Aidan Larson, from Oakland, CA, is a third year student at Drexel University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media and Virtual Production at Drexel University. Aidan’s areas of academic focus include 3D Computer Graphics, Animation, Visual Effects, real-time 3D graphics, user interactivity, game design, image processing technologies, and fine art. Aidan’s academic journey has been complemented by a rich set of hands-on experiences, leadership roles, and professional Co-Ops.

As a Co-Op at the Animation, Capture and Effects Lab, Aidan played a crucial role in supporting Epic Games during their flagship event, Phunreal Fest. This involved meticulous management of event logistics and exhibit setup, alongside leading multiple photogrammetry and modeling projects. Notable achievements include scanning and modeling rare vintage clothing items for “The Philly Collection” and designing an immersive exhibit on the blue wasp species for The Academy of Natural Sciences. Additionally, Aidan contributed significantly to asset creation for various senior projects, honing his skills in Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine, and Python.

In his capacity as a Summer Camp Instructor at iD Tech, Aidan designed and implemented engaging lesson plans covering Unreal, 3D modeling, and Game Design. Aidan’s commitment to his students, i.e. meeting curriculum goals and creating a safe and productive learning environment, earned him praise at iD Tech.

Beyond structured roles, Aidan has engaged in independent 3D projects, leveraging Maya, Substance Painter, and Unreal to model and commercialize assets. Collaborating with the Hyetus team, Aidan contributed creatively to multiple digital art pieces, showcasing versatility and innovation in digital media.

Aidan is proficient in Autodesk Maya, Shogun Motion Capture Software, Houdini, Z-Brush, Unreal Engine, and Adobe Suite. Aidan’s career aspiration is to leverage his passion for digital media combined with his skills in creative thinking, understanding of design, aesthetic sensitivity, and storytelling and to contribute meaningfully to future projects and advancements in the industry.  When he is not working or studying, Aidan enjoys organizing outings with his friends and spending time with animals.

Directly too my right is my little sister Julia who this year is starting her college education at University of Washington! Next to her is my Mom Sarah who works very very hard as a general consultant, and next to my mom is my dad Rob who is a therapist and has really taught me many of the life lessons that have built me into who I am today.
